Johnnie Walker Whisky Week: Day 4

Johnnie Walker Whisky Week: Day 4

It's Day 4 of our Johnnie Walker Whisky Week- Have you thought about hosting your own whisky tasting yet? We gave you tip one on Tuesday but still wondering about the rest. Tomorrow we will reveal all! (Pssst- It's really easy!)

The most important thing to do is enjoy! Take the time to talk about each taste and above all, ask questions: How many flavours can you smell? Taste? Do the whiskies look different? Finally which is your favourite and why?

You know who else likes whisky? Angels. No, not Victoria Secret angels (although I am sure some of them love a whisky cocktail or two) but real, live, float in the sky, guide you through a Tough Mudder, watch over babies, protect you when you're sleeping, angels!

Did you know?

An 'Angel's share' is accounted for when making Scotch

When it goes into the barrel, Scotch is clear. It gets its color from interacting with the barrel. The older the whisky, generally speaking, the darker. Over time, the amount of spirit in the barrel will diminish, at a rate of about 4% per year. The part that evaporates is referred to as the "angel’s share." After 25 years, more than 40% of the barrel will have gone to the angels.*

For those looking for an 'angelic' scotch recipe, check out today's Red label and coconut water cocktail.
